Carrot Express is opening a second Brickell spot
Plus a $47 million penthouse under contract, a 75-story tower cleared by the review board, and a free Saturday at PAMM.
Carrot Express plans a second Brickell location at 1057 Brickell Plaza, set to open this fall. The fast-casual restaurant takes 1,362 square feet and is planned for 52 seats. That splits into 32 indoors and 20 on an outdoor patio. Mario Laufer founded the Miami-based company in Miami Beach in 1993. It now has more than 30 locations across South Florida and New York City. The menu runs to salads, grain bowls, wraps, sandwiches, smoothies, fresh juices, and all-day breakfast, with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-friendly choices.
A $47 million penthouse goes under contract at 1809 Brickell
A two-story Charles Penthouse at The St. Regis Residences, Miami is under contract for $47 million. The buyer is described as a New York family relocating to South Florida. The residence spans 10,012 square feet. The deal brings the development to more than 80% sold, with about $900 million in sales. The 50-story, 152-residence project is under construction at 1809 Brickell Avenue. Construction began in November 2024. A top-out is expected later in 2026, with completion anticipated in 2027. Related Group and Integra Investments are the developers. Robert A.M. Stern Architects designed the building, and Rockwell Group designed the interiors.
Google's parent quadruples its space at 1450 Brickell
Alphabet, Google's parent company, signed a lease earlier in 2026 that expands its office at 1450 Brickell Avenue. The footprint grows from 10,000 square feet to about 45,000 square feet. That is more than four times the space it held before. Google first opened a Miami office in 2016. The building is a 625,000-square-foot Class A tower developed by Rilea Group. It has large missile-impact-resistant glass and two backup generators. Those generators can supply tenants with more than 4,000 kilowatts during outages.
Caviar at a fixed price on Brickell Avenue
Ockap Caviar & Cuisine says it is offering a $95 three-course menu for Miami Spice Restaurant Months at 1060 Brickell Avenue. It is available Tuesday through Saturday, from August 1 through September 30, 2026. The restaurant says it developed the menu with Paris-based Ducasse Conseil. Listed choices include deviled eggs, lobster roll, charred citrus ceviche, croquetas de caviar, fried chicken with caviar, and sea bass. Dominican restaurateur Oscar Andrés Brenes founded the restaurant. The room seats 60, including nine bar seats. A nightly Caviar Hour is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. beginning August 11.
Review board backs a 75-story tower next to the 1949 church
Miami's Urban Development Review Board unanimously recommended approval of 619 Brickell, a proposed 75-story tower, with two design conditions. The plan at 619 Brickell Avenue includes 321 residential units, ground-floor commercial uses, new facilities for First Presbyterian Church, and a publicly accessible baywalk. The church at 609 Brickell Avenue was built in 1949 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. The developers plan to preserve it. The board asked the team to revisit glass on the west podium facade facing the church. It also asked for a different use in the planned ground-floor gym space.
A boxing documentary and its director at PAMM on Thursday
Pérez Art Museum Miami screens On the Line, a 2025 boxing documentary, Thursday, August 6, at 7 p.m. Filmmaker Francesco Saviano stays for a conversation afterward. Both the screening and discussion take place at the museum that evening, giving the audience a chance to hear directly from the filmmaker after the credits.
Free admission at PAMM this Saturday morning
Pérez Art Museum Miami offers free admission Saturday, August 8, beginning at 11 a.m. The Back to School program includes art-making activities inspired by Deborah Brown's Moonlight from the Brooklyn Series. Families can spend time in the galleries and make a hands-on project tied to Brown's work during PAMM's Free Second Saturdays program.
